Prepare for the Pioneer Trek
Spiritually• Plan a Family Home Evening:
o Research a Pioneer story for the Trek, and Share your researched Pioneer story with your family
o Watch the film “ Legacy” on the utube Mormon videos, and or the movie “17 miracles”
o Read Journals and stories of pioneers in your family
o Ask a Grandparent to share stories about your ancestors
o Be more familiar with the following Hymns:

• Go on a field trip to:
o Daughters of Utah Pioneer Museum
o This is the Place o Genealogical Library
• Increase Your Personal Spirituality:
o Go to the Temple to do Baptisms for the Dead, go with a group, invite friends
o Write in your journal
o Prepare to receive your Patriarchal blessing, reread it if you have it.
o Read the Joseph Smith History in the Scriptures
o Read your Scriptures regularly
o Read books such a Journal of the Trail or The Handcart Experience
o Share your testimony
o Invite a non-member to Mutual
o Perform a service individually, with your family or youth group
- Invite a friend from our stake to join you on the Trek
Physically
Plan a fitness program, Start walking with your family, or youth group
• Sew your pioneer clothes, (many wards are coordinating a YW/ RS activity to help)
• Plan a 5 mile hike
• Swimming and bike riding
• Give up soda and caffeinated drinks
• Learn how to cook in a Dutch Oven
• WALK, WALK,WALK, Break in your shoes, Walk to school with groups, to the movies, to church etc.
